Sunday 15th July, 7.30pm, Cheese and Grain
On the last night of Frome Festival, Frome Symphony brings a large-scale orchestra to the Cheese and Grain for a programme of 20th century British music, opening with Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Overture to Aristophanes’ play, The Wasps. Local musician George White is the soloist in the Viola Concerto by William Walton. The concert concludes with a full performance of Gustav Holst’s famous Planets suite, one of the most popular orchestral works in the repertoire. Frome Symphony is conducted by Mark Gateshill.
